Located just 5 miles north of Silverthorne—approximately a 30-minute drive from Breckenridge—Rocking A Ranch is one of the newest additions to Mountain Angler’s private water program for 2026. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Gore Range, this beautiful property offers anglers a unique opportunity to fish both a productive private lake and a secluded stretch of the Blue River.
The ranch features a large private lake that supports healthy populations of brown, rainbow, and cutthroat trout. Fish typically range from 12 to 20 inches, with many of the brown trout being naturally reproducing wild fish. The lake has also been stocked annually for many years, and in 2026 it will receive an additional stocking of quality rainbow trout weighing 2 to 3 pounds.
One of the property’s biggest advantages is exclusive access to a section of the Blue River that is generally inaccessible to the public. A typical guided trip often includes spending the morning on the lake before moving to the river for the afternoon, allowing anglers to experience two distinct fisheries in a single day.
The lake can be fished by wading the shoreline or from rafts and drift boats, while the Blue River is best fished on foot with waders.
