Located in the heart of South Park near Lake George, Colorado, Eleven Mile Reservoir is one of the Rocky Mountains’ premier stillwater fisheries. Spanning more than 3,400 acres, the reservoir offers anglers the chance to target large trout while surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.
Eleven Mile is home to healthy populations of rainbow, brown, cutthroat, and cutbow trout, with fish commonly measuring 16–24 inches and the occasional trophy-sized catch. The reservoir also supports kokanee salmon and northern pike, creating diverse fishing opportunities throughout the season. Abundant scuds and productive weed beds help trout grow quickly and maintain exceptional size and condition.
Our guided fly fishing trips focus primarily on indicator and hopper-dropper techniques from specialized stillwater boats. Throughout the summer, trout feed along shallow flats, weed edges, and drop-offs on scuds, chironomids, damselflies, and other aquatic insects. Calm mornings often provide excellent sight-fishing opportunities, while changing weather conditions can create productive fishing throughout the day.
