Blue River – Near Breckenridge

October 1, 2018

Today's Rating:

Flow: 18.2 c.f.s.

The water has dropped a lot in this section of the Blue River now. Dry fly fishing has been very productive here with small hopper patterns and BWO dry flies. There are some very large resident rainbows in this section. But, hearing good reports from “The Steps” and Breckenridge Rec Center. Hopper or nymph rigs are producing best. Try 5x/6x tippet/leaders to produce fish. Furthermore, do a lot of walking and sight fishing to fish holding in certain locations to be productive.
