Antero Reservoir

October 1, 2018

Today's Rating:

Antero is fishing lights out right now! Lots of hungry trout here right now and very willing to take a fly!

If you are fishing from the boat just find the weed edges and pockets in 10-12ft of water. Throw a nymph rig of 7-9ft of depth with 3 flies suspended. Flies that have been working are streamers, leeches, pink/red worms, yellow sallies, pheasant tails, copper johns, PMD’s, and midges.

Fishing from shore has been great and lots of large fish have been caught. Like all lake fishing goes it can be erratic and day to day on how it may fish. Keep up the prescience and it might just pay off. Nymph rigs from the shore have been working great dropped down to leeches, sculpin patterns, and larger nymphs. Also, striping the streamer can be the ticket some days!

Get out and try out some stillwater fly fishing!

Suggested Flies:

Leech patterns of all kinds/colors, Chronimids, Stonefly’s, Zebra Midges, Pheasant Tails in all sizes
